Best Digital Refractometer 2022

Brief

The FJDynamics refractometer is the best portable digital refractometer. Its brix range is 0-95%, which allows it to measure almost everything you want including fruit, beverage, fruit juice, soft drinks, coffee, wine, industrial fluids, cutting oil, seawater, antifreeze, jam, urine, concentrated juice, honey, maple syrup, etc.

Highlights

±0.1% High Accuracy & Accurate Detection Only in 2s

The FJD Brix Refractometer is an ATC refractometer for the function of automatic temperature compensation. This ability keeps the digital brix refractometer operating properly at a temperature range from 5℃ to 45℃. Only 0.05ml of sample liquid is enough for refractometer measurement. With a built-in NTC intelligent algorithm and multimodal sensing hardware, the best digital refractometer provides accurate brix readings only in 2s. So, it’s much more convenient for home and business rather than the benchtop refractometer. Only 2 drops of liquid are needed. Then you’ll have accurate results at the touch of a button.

Digital Refractometer for Multi-scenario Applications

With the brix scale range from 0% to 95%, 0.1% of accuracy, and 0.05% of resolution, the digital handheld refractometer supports a wide range of detection. It’s possible to measure almost everything you want including salinity, coffee TDS, or sugar content of soft drinks and fruit juices, the sugar content of maple and wort, food, fruit, beverage, coffee, wine, industrial fluids, fruit juice, soft drinks, cutting oil, seawater, antifreeze, jam, urine, concentrated juice, honey, maple syrup, etc. So, if you’re looking for a portable refractometer, this one is worth a look. With an accurate reading of the refractive index, it would be the best refractometer handheld and your top pick.

Integrated APP Real-time Detection, Discover More On Your Phone

You can download the Difluid APP from the App Store. There are many measuring models on the mobile application. Directly select the model that you’re ready to test and get the most accurate results. The brix refractometer supports data saving and output, case storage, and data analysis on mobile phones. All measuring data of digital refractometers can be viewed on and exported from the mobile app, including the sugar content, brix value, final gravity, and much more. It’s convenient for brewing professionals to check the quality of your food or drink with the FJD digital refractometer.

Note: Please make sure that the app allows Bluetooth connection and that your phone has Bluetooth turned on. If the app and device are still not connected, please restart your Bluetooth and do it in this order: turn off Bluetooth - then turn on Bluetooth - then turn on the app - and finally turn on the device.

Durable Pocket Refractometer

This hand held refractometer is small enough to be carried around. Weighing only 24g, it can be even put in your pocket anytime, anywhere, without carrying a storage case. The handheld digital refractometers are made with smooth and strong ABS material, which has corrosion resistance, a unique hydrogel film design, and IP67 dust and water resistance rating, Drop-resistant (1.5 meters), all of which make the refractometer durable, comfortable to handle, and very easy to clean (you can rinse the ATC refractometer with tap water). Dual scale refractometers sometimes have large reading errors. Thus, we design a single-scale refractometer with more accurate readings than the dual scale one. Not like each unit of those traditional refractometers with a manual calibration knob that is secured with a lock nut. It’s the best hand held refractometer with long battery life in 2022!

Convenient Charging & Long Battery Life

This brix refractometer has a 350 mAh lithium battery. It can be on standby for 30 days, which is longer than most competing products. It can complete more than 10,000 inspections in a row. Users can use USB Type-C to charge the battery anytime, anywhere.

FAQ

Q1: I am into home brewing. Can I use this hand held refractometer for making beer?

For sure. This refractometer with automatic temperature compensation can be used for home brewing. For home brewing hobbyists, this digital handheld refractometer is a must-have. With this refractometer, you can measure the sugar content of the wort in the pre-fermentation process. So, you can know the alcohol content of the final product.

Q2: When should I use calibration fluid for this refractometer handheld?

If you get positive or negative values after dripping clear water, you need to press the button for a short time. And then long-press it to calibrate. It can be used normally after the calibration.

Q3: Does this handheld refractometer use batteries or does it support charging?

The FJDynamics Refractometer supports Type-C charging, with a 350 mAh lithium battery. It can reach full charge in 1h. Continuous use for more than 3 hours and continuous standby for up to 200 days.

Q4: Does the liquid groove of the hand held refractometer need to be covered during measurement?

You don’t need a storage case to protect your FJDynamics Refractometer. Those handheld refractometers with fragile lenses cannot receive light refraction. But our handheld refractometers take accurate measurements in less than 2s.

Q5: I am a fruit wholesaler in the food beverage industry. I need to buy a device with a good hand held refractometer price to test the sugar content of fruit. Can I trust the accuracy of your product?

It’s your top pick with advanced optics. Please rest assured that the accuracy of our product is certified by professional organizations. You can also buy professional calibration fluids to test the accuracy of the refractometer handheld.

Q6: Are there any notes for testing I need to know?

When using it for the first time, it is necessary to calibrate the device with pure water at room temperature until the brix scale on the screen shows 0%. If test results vary significantly, the temperature difference is the root cause. Calibrate the device with clean water. If you want to test the content of water in honey, please check the Brix range 0-95% maple syrup refractometer.

Q7: How to use the FJD Brix Refractometer?

First, use distilled water to calibrate the degree brix if not using it for a long time. Next, boot the FJD Brix Refractometer in a sugar-free state before measuring sugar. Put only a few drops of liquid sample into the sample tank, then click to test. It will not take a long time for testing. The readings of degree brix, temperature, and refraction rate will come out within 2s on the LCD screen, quick and accurate. We recommend that you use it with the App to see more test data.

Q8: What to do if there is a deviation in the results of several tests?

Try recalibrating the refractometer. No need to drop some water on the testing platform and adjust therefractometerto zero or apply 2-3 drops to the prism surface and close the cover like traditional refractometers. First, rinse the auto refractometer, wipe the sample tank, and click the button to turn it on in a scale-free state. Then, drop enough amount of distilled water into the sample tank. Press the button briefly followed by a long press until the screen reads “Complete” and the brix reads “0.00%”. Then, your instrument is ready to work again, providing you with fast readings and accurate results. ATC automatic temperature compensation helps the refractometer work perfectly at a temperature from 5°C to 45°C. Besides, the measurements may be incorrect if alcohol is present.

Q9: What kind of fruit can this ATC refractometer test for sugar content?

Thehandheld refractometercan measure the sugar content of almost all fruits: apples, grapes, oranges, pineapples, and so on. With a quality optics design, it will calculate the refractive index of the liquid and convert the brix scale of the liquid with its light source. Remember to squeeze them to make juice!

Q10: Can this brix refractometer with ATC measure the sugar content of milk?

Our FJDynamics Refractometer is a great tool for testing the total dissolved solids without the need for a specific gravity scale. Add only a few drops of liquid to the sample tank, you’ll get the most accurate results. Because milk contains some other solid soluble substances besides sugar, the data gathered may be inconsistent with the ingredient description on milk packaging.

Q11: What is the ATC function and how does it work?

The ATC function means that you can use therefractometerin an ambient temperature range of 50-86℃. FJD brix refractometer can also measure the brix of unfermented wort besides salinity and coffee TDS.

Q12: Can this refractometer work well in beer brewing?

Yes, we can measure the brix of the wort sample, and then calculate the alcohol content of beer after fermentation. Also, with this digital refractometer, you can measure the degreebrix, salinity, and dissolved solids in coffees, no need to refer to a brix scale.

Q13: Does this refractometer measure the sugar content of maple?

Yes, thishandheld refractometercan measure the sugar content within a range of 0-95%. So, it is suitable for maple syrup producers.

Q14: Does this maple syrup refractometer measure solutions of any temperature?

We recommend using a liquid at room temperature for the measurement.

Q15: Can this maple syrup refractometer be recharged?

Yes, it recharges via a Type-C port, and has 30-day long battery life.

Q16: How to test the sugar content of maple syrup for a maple syrup producer?

At first, boil the maple sap to get rid of the extra moisture in the maple sap. Wait until the syrup cools down, and just take the digital refractometers out of your pocket. Next, calibrate theATC refractometerwith reverse osmosis or distilled water. Then, test the sugar content of maple syrup with the digitalrefractometer.

This is a fine instrument.

Use it for measuring the brix if Home Brew. Of course one must have a chart to transfer the reading into specific gravity but this is a fine instrument.

Good afternoon,

I've just watched a YouTube video (Homebrew Griffo) on your pocket hydrometer, and when I've gone to order, I'm being advised you won't ship to the UK.

Please advise on whether this is a fault or correct? I was happy to see the Black Friday reduction, but frustrated that I can't buy one!

Many thanks

Stuart Evans

Fantastic refractometer, the size is very convenient and so nice to have the Bluetooth connected app to give you your extraction rate. If you dont have the app you have to perform calculations and the app even provides a extraction rate graph. Much smaller than a typical generic version meter. Very happy with the purchase and does not break the bank.
